About Us

Education first. Sales pitch never.

DiscussCBDs exists because most CBD information online is written by people trying to sell you something. We're not a retailer, and we don't manufacture or sell CBD products. We're an independent publication focused on explaining the science, the products, and the regulatory landscape as clearly and honestly as we can.

Our mission

The CBD market grew faster than the research and regulation meant to guide it. That gap gets filled by marketing claims that often outrun what's actually been studied. Our job is to close that gap — translating cannabinoid science, FDA guidance, and product formulation into something a non-scientist can actually use to make informed decisions.

How we rate evidence

Every article that discusses a potential effect of CBD carries one of three evidence ratings: Preliminary (early-stage, cell, or animal research), Emerging (a growing but still limited body of human studies), or Established (multiple consistent, well-designed human studies). We assign these ratings based on the depth and consistency of published research at the time of writing, not on commercial interest in a particular outcome.

What we are not

We are not a medical provider, and nothing on this site is medical advice. We don't sell CBD products, and we don't accept payment in exchange for favorable coverage of a specific brand. Where we do run advertising or affiliate links (clearly marked where they appear), that relationship never determines our editorial conclusions about the underlying science.

Editorial process

Articles are written and reviewed by our editorial team with reference to primary sources — peer-reviewed studies, FDA and international regulatory guidance, and academic reviews — rather than secondary marketing material. We update articles when relevant new research or regulation emerges, and we note significant updates where applicable.
